A footballing legend… Every now and again a footballer comes along who seems to transcend sport. Players with talent that other footballers can only dream of. Ronaldo and Messi. Zidane and Figo. Cantona, Beckham and Carlton Palmer to name but a few. However, there have not been many English players that have had such mercurialContinueContinue reading “Monday, 12th December”

So, what is the trick to life…? I love The Hoosiers! There, I’ve said it. Catchy tunes, cracking live and thoroughly nice gents to boot. We asked if they could record a message for us this year, to let everybody know that A Goldstitch Christmas was open for business (well, fundraising)! That video, from Irwin,ContinueContinue reading “Sunday, 11th December”

Don’t let the bells end… We all love Christmas songs, don’t we? Like Christmas films, sometimes the cheesier they are, the better they are. In 1966 it was adapted into an animation, with Boris Karloff playing the role of both the Grinch and the narrator, andContinueContinue reading “Wednesday, 7th December”

Kevin! When Macaulay Culkin starred in Uncle Buck with John Candy, it was thought that he had reached his peak at the age of 8. Little did we know that just 12 months later, Culkin would star in one of the best Christmas films of all time. Yes, one of the best Christmas films ofContinueContinue reading “Tuesday, 6th December”

Do They Know It’s Christmas? It’s the start of a new working week (well, not for me as I’ve got a few days off) and we are less than three weeks away from the big day. I’ve been wondering what to put behind the door for day five and thought that maybe I’d put aContinueContinue reading “Monday, 5th December”
