It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Day One of our advent calendar already! I can’t believe it has been a year already. Time certainly does fly.
Anybody who knows me, will be fully aware that I wait for one thing to truly herald the arrival of the festive season. And that is the Coca Cola Christmas advert.
Seeing that line of trucks driving through the town, with the townsfolk excitedly watching from the street and the windows of their houses…it just gives me that warm feeling. My telephone ringtone is also Holidays are Coming…all year round. And when Coca Cola leave it late to run the advert…well, I just have to give them a little chase.

I know that it’s only an advert, but there are certain things that are just intrinsically linked to Christmas. The Coca Cola Christmas advert, the Radio Times Christmas double edition, eating Quality Street until you’re sick.
Memories of Christmases of old come flooding back as soon as I see the ad, as much as watching old episodes of Morecambe and Wise or Only Fools and Horses. Listening to Cliff Richard and Wizzard. And anything that triggers a memory from deep inside the brain’s memory banks is fine by me.
